Leanne is founder and Managing Director of ARMILA Sustainability Services Ltd. Leanne is an experienced consultant who specialises in sustainable development and has a passion for supporting the responsible delivery of low environmental impact projects that enhance user health and social wellbeing.

Leanne’s specialisms include the development of inclusive net zero delivery frameworks, Life Cycle Assessment (embodied and whole life carbon), Soft Landings, Post Occupancy Evaluation, environmental building assessment and building performance optimisation. Throughout her career, Leanne has successfully delivered more than 70 projects as a client side advisor, leading and project managing a diverse selection of domestic, non-domestic and mixed-use projects across the public and private sectors, throughout Scotland, across the UK and internationally.

She is an expert in building performance assessment, adopting a whole life approach to sustainability and supporting clients at every life cycle stage from brief development during early project inception stages, through to design validation during detailed development stages and performance verification during the project use stages.

Leanne regularly adopts strategic advisory roles, supporting sectors and organisations transition towards an inclusive net zero future. This includes Leanne’s recent work with NHSScotland (NHSSS) where she adopted the lead consultant role on the development of the new NHSS sustainability standard for healthcare buildings and similarly, working with Scottish Futures Trust supporting the development of Scottish Government’s new Net Zero Carbon Public Sector Building Standard, leading on Whole Life Carbon approaches.

Leanne is the former Director for Sustainable Development at BRE. She is a qualified BREEAM Assessor and BREEAM AP. She actively engages with a number of built environment working groups, which has included the UK Green Building Council’s Members Advisory Group; co-chair of the BREEAM Contractors Working Group; Scottish Government’s Building Standards Division Section 7 Sustainability working group and is an IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) Member.

ARMILA Sustainability Services Ltd is supported through the 15+ years of experience in sustainability assessment, consultancy and knowledge transfer – having previously supported the delivery of developments with a total construction value in excess of £1billion.
